Big Bang (Korean: 빅뱅) is a Korean musical group of five, with both vocals and rap styles. When they first debuted, they were considered to be the new face of the YG Family, a pet name for their management company YG Entertainment.[1] Although their debut was somewhat successful, it was not until the release of "거짓말" ("Lies") that the group gained success.[2] Big Bang have been noted for their music as well as their fashionable clothing, becoming famous throughout the country in the process.[3] They also write and produce their own music.

The group returned to Korea mid-2008 after their activities in Japan ended. Despite their activities being delayed several time due to solo activities, Big Bang eventually released their third mini-album Stand Up — which featured collaborations with the group Daishi Dance, and the Korean rock-band No Brain with their latest punk rock single Oh My Friend. The band's first release was "Day By Day" ("하루하루"). Like previous albums, leader G-Dragon was heavily involved with the production of the album, having composed and written a majority of the songs with the exception of "A Good Man", which was composed by fellow group member T.O.P. The mini-album went on to exceed the 100,000 mark in sales and also yielded some of the group's strongest singles, with the lead single "Day By Day" topping several online charts and staying at the number-one spot for 6 consecutive weeks.[17] In addition, several of their songs also made it to the Top 20 of the charts, with "Heaven" at the number-two spot, "Oh My Friend" being ninth, "A Good Man" at twelfth and "Lady" being sixteenth — a total of five songs in the Top 20 for the group.

Towards the end of 2008, Big Bang released their Korean follow-up album, Remember, yielding the single "붉은노을 ("Sunset Glow"), which peaked at number-one on various charts in Korea.

This song makes me feel happy! haheho... There was a time when I went for shopping at AMK hub, then I heard this song playing in the shop. All of the sudden, I just feel like dancing and my day was liven up. =)

Whenever I listen to it, I just feel like joining in and sing along with the chorus part.

TOP's voice is so man and distinctive.

Their second mini album, Hot Issue, was released a few months after Always and yielded another strong single for the group, "Last Farewell" ("마지막 인사"). It mirrored the success of "Lies," topping various music charts, and winning "Song of the Month Digital Music Award" from Cyworld , beating strong competitors such as the Wonder Girls and F.T. Island. It also topped Juke-On's chart for eight consecutive weeks.

Is the leader of Big Bang. Has been trained by YG entertainment since he was 12 years old, he was paired up with Taeyang and known as GDYB. He often composes and produces the group's material. G-Dragon is also very interested in fashion and is known to be very fashionable. His mini-album will release sometime in 2009.

Tae Yang started out as being a rapper, but is now the main vocalist of Big Bang. He is known to be shy, sweet, thoughtful, and most sensitive one in Big Bang. It is also known he used to be scared of girls' when he was younger. He was the first one to release a solo album, called HOT.

I think e looks a bit like huang li xing and he dances well. Just that all the female dancers like taller than him. haha. I like his style, think he's the hottest in BB.

Position: Rapper, Beat Boxer, Composer
Date of Birth: November 4, 1987
Is known as the 'big brother' of the band. He also won KBS Radio's Rap Battle in 2003. Another one of his talents is acting. He was in the Korean Drama "I am Sam" He impressed many people, including fans, with his acting skills. He was also in Red Roc's music video for Hello and also in Gummy's mv for I'm Sorry w/ Sandara Park. T.O.P also got more fame when he kissed superstar Lee Hyori on stage at the 2008 MKMF (it was planned though). Before joining Big Bang, he performed in clubs as a rapper, and eventually received recognition by winning KBS's "Rap Battle" in 2003.

Date of Birth: April 26, 1989
Dae Sung was first known as "ugly" and "Unpretty boy" but the staff team confimed he is the most liked member in Big Bang. He has a talent of imitating people and also has a great sense of humor. Dae Sung is the second Big Bang member to star in a musical, the Korean musical "Cats". During the 2008 MKMF, his act with Korean superstar Lee Hyori was voted one of the best acts of the night. He is also a permanent fixture on Family Outing, a variety show that is part of SBS's Good Sunday line-up. He also released two trot singles in 2008.

Position: Vocal, Choreographer
Date of Birth: December 12, 1990 (ohman, younger than me!)
He initially joined Battle Shinhwa, a reality show that was aiming to find the next Shinhwa; he was rejected after the 13th episode. He then later tried out for Big Bang and made it into the group. Seung Ri is the "little brother" of Big Bang. One of his greater talents is dancing and choreographing performances. Before Big Bang, Seung Ri was part of a Gwangju dance team, II Hwa. Seung Ri is the first member to be in a musical, Sonagi. Seung Ri is also the second member to debut as an actor, after T.O.P. He is in "Why did you come to our house?" and it is releasing at the end of 2008.
